case 61.3 mm diameter case 24 mm thickness

Case: Cast gilt-brass case with hinged lid and integral back. The back decorated with foliate scrolls and female figures. The band has upper and lower mouldings enclosing a pierced frieze of foliate scrolls and animals. The lid pierced between a circle of caryatid figures to reveal the hour numerals. Dial: Chapter-ring with hours I-XII and T-shaped half-hour marks surrounding a quarters circle of alternate hatched and plain rectangles. In the centre is an engraved arabesque design.
